Interview with baby Alissa’s mom:
Has the journey to pregnancy been different than you expected? How so?
“I wish I could say that it was smooth sailing, but because of what happened with Olivia 3 years ago, this pregnancy has been very emotional and filled with anxiety. That said, I truly enjoyed being pregnant and even morning sickness made me happy. In addition, we bought and remodeled a house while I was pregnant, so there was little down time, most of the weekends were spent picking out finishes (for me) and demoing/putting up drywall for Lance.”
How did mom tell dad they were expecting?
“I wish I could say I did something special to break the news, I had so many Pinterest ideas saved, but I was so excited and happy, that I called him as he was driving home from work and blurted it out!”
Did you find out if you were having a boy/girl? What was mom and dad’s reactions?
“I was absolutely overjoyed. I always wanted to raise a daughter. I believe Lance was happy we were having another girl as well, although I’m sure he would have been excited with either a boy or a girl.”
What was it like seeing your baby for the first time?
“Looking at her for the first time was the most amazing feeling and all the anxiety I felt throughout the pregnancy was overshadowed by the incredible love and joy I felt getting to hold her for the first time.”
When didi it really hit home that you are a mom?
“I am not sure I’ve fully realized this just yet, but every time I pick her up at night, I am amazed that this beautiful creature depends on me for everything and I am her whole world.”
